Lady Gaga Wins 2011 PopCrush Music Award for Artist of the Year
Lady Gaga is the reigning queen of the 2011 PopCrush Music Awards. Not only did Mother Monster snag seven wins out of the 10 categories, but she also won the most coveted title of 2011's Artist of the Year. Although it wasn't an overwhelming defeat like in some of the other categories, Gaga still managed to come out on top thanks to 23% of the votes from her little monsters.
It definitely wasn't an easy feat for Gaga to be crowned the 2011 Artist of the Year. She had some stiff competition, going up against some of 2011's biggest stars, including Adele, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. Gaga even received more fan votes than Justin Bieber, with the little monsters out-voting the Beliebers.
We're sure Lady Gaga will look back at 2011 as one of the most momentous years of her life. In 2011, the songstress released her chart-topping album 'Born This Way,' a slew of hit singles and a concert DVD highlighting her Monster Ball performances. She also embarked on an international, seemingly endless tour, released a photo book with acclaimed photographer Terry Richardson, won a few Grammys (and was nominated for more in 2012), and dropped some unforgettable music videos. In addition to all of this, she also won over more and more fans thanks to her hard-working efforts to end bullying.
