Lady Gaga Received Blessing from Madonna for ‘Born This Way’

The Queen supports the Lady! It all sounds so regal in the pop universe. On her appearance last night on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,' Lady Gaga, looking very much the part of the black widow with a veil and lacy, monochromatic ensemble, said she received Madonna's blessing for 'Born This Way.'

While many critics have pointed out that Gaga's brand new, record-shattering and anthemic single smacks of Madge's 1989 empowerment anthem 'Express Yourself,' the two divas aren't beefing over the similarities. After all, Gaga said Madonna personally gave the song her blessing. That's a big deal. Big.

Gaga says, "The good news is I got an email from her people sending me their love and support on behalf of the single. And if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be." Gaga is thrilled to be compared to an icon like Madonna, saying, "There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally."
