This year’s 37th annual Kennedy Center Honors paid homage to some of the great artists of our time — from Al Green and Tom Hanks to Sting, Lily Tomlin and ballerina Patricia McBride. Both Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars took the stage, separately, to honor Sting, and we were totally blown away by their respective performances.

Wearing a shocking silver wig — with matching eyeshadow and outfit, no less — Lady Gaga totally killed it by performing Sting's ‘If I Ever Lose My Faith in You.’ No matter what your feelings may be on Lady Gaga, there is absolutely no denying she’s insanely talented. Her vocals are absolutely unreal here, and it helps us remember that beneath the crazy costumes and personas, Gaga has the talent and the presence to back up her antics. It’s one of the many reasons why we love her. You can check out her performance of the Sting hit above!

Bruno Mars then took the stage to perform two Police songs, totally impressing everyone in the audience -- which included President Obama -- as he seamlessly transitioned from ‘So Lonely’ into ‘Message in a Bottle.’ His impassioned performance of ‘Message in a Bottle’ involved the cast of Sting’s Broadway musical ’The Last Ship' — which, understandably, brought Sting to tears. You can check out the video of Bruno’s fantastic performance above!
