Famed midtown NYC venue Roseland Ballroom will be ceasing operations and shutting its doors for good in early 2014. Lady Gaga, a native New Yorker, will play the final shows ever hosted at the venue with a four-date residency scheduled for March 28, 30, 31 and April 1.

The residency, which should be a full-on, Gagafied production, launches on Gaga's 28th birthday, so it'll be bittersweet for her to close a storied venue while celebrating her bday.

Beyonce also enjoyed a residency at the famed Roseland back in August 2011 and filmed a DVD while there. So clearly, the venue has hosted its fair share of divas. It's fitting, however, for Gaga to literally shut it down since she is a native daughter.

First access to tickets is being offered to members of Gaga's Little Monsters site.

Go here to register. Randomly selected registrants will receive an email invite and a unique code to purchase tickets on Thursday, Nov. 21. The code allows fans to purchase a pair of tickets to the show of their choice. Early registration does not, however, guarantee the receipt of a code, so it's sort of like a lottery.
