The Weeknd and Illangelo turn Lady Gaga's latest single, 'Marry the Night,' into a spooky downcast tune on their remix of the track, which appears on Mother Monster's upcoming release 'Born This Way: The Remix.'

The menacing backing vocals and overall sinister vibe of the new version of 'Marry the Night' are reminiscent of the 'Born This Way' album track 'Bloody Mary,' but this remix goes even further left of center by incorporating a dubstep beat and severely slowing down Gaga's vocals. The beat drops out halfway through the song, opening up a sparse piano section that sounds more like the acoustic performance Gaga delivered in India.

This 'Marry the Night' remix is not necessarily for bubblegum pop fans, but more adventurous listeners may find it appealing. 'Born This Way: The Remix' hits retailers on Nov. 21 and also includes the Metronomy Remix and Wild Beasts Remix of 'You and I.'

The Weeknd, a Drake-approved R&B singer whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, earned rave reviews for his mixtape 'House of Balloons,' which Illangelo helped produce. The exposure from the Gaga remix could encourage a new segment of fans to check out the mixtape.
