Move over, vampires. Lady Gaga is bringing mermaids from the bottom of the ocean into to the surface of pop culture, as the singer teased that her next video may feature Yuyi, her mermaid alter ego. After all, she can be the Mother Monster and the Mother Mermaid.

"I haven't been excited about a video like this in a really long time," she admitted during an interview with a Taiwanese talk show. She was coy, like the fish, to extend the marine life metaphor, about which will be the fourth single of 'Born This Way, following the title track, 'Judas' and 'The Edge of Glory.'

Gaga unveiled her mermaid alter ego during a performance for 'Le Grand Journal' in France in June, and she referenced Yuyi again in this interview, saying, "I will also say that Yuyi is in incubation, for anyone who knows what that means. Yuyi may just be born in the next video." Gaga gave birth in the 'Born This Way' video so she may be revisiting that artistic device once again.

About the upcoming vid, Gaga also said, "The relation of the video to my real life, as well as to my dream of the future, is really what makes it so special. Part of what 'Born This Way' is all about is choosing to live halfway between reality and fantasy at all times, and how anyone can do that. So this video really, really challenges that idea and also celebrates it. And it's very exciting." Oh Gaga, we are well aware that you toe the line between what's real and what's fantasy and we love that you do it fearlessly, without a net.

We also love sea creatures as much as Gaga does and look forward to (hopefully) seeing more of Yuyi in whatever her next video is. Gaga engaged in a quick Q&A with the little monsters last week and was tight-lipped about what her next single will be.

Gaga definitely knows how to make us curious.
