Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour Will Be Featured as an HBO Concert Special
Still riding high after topping the iTunes chart with her new song ‘Born This Way’ and winning three Grammy Awards on Sunday, Lady Gaga has announced that her upcoming shows at Madison Square Garden will be turned into an HBO special.
Set for a May 7 air date, ‘Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden’ will feature footage from Gaga’s shows at the famed New York City arena on Feb. 21-22, according to MTV.
Gaga announced the special during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ on Monday night. HBO followed up with a statement confirming the special and telling viewers to expect, well, the unexpected.
Network president Sue Naegle wrote, “We’re especially thrilled that she’ll be creating unique new elements for the special that will make the show an even more memorable experience for our viewers.”
The Monster Ball Tour kicks off this weekend in Atlantic City, N.J. and continues through May.
