Lady Gaga knows how to make an entrance and that's just what Ma Monster did when she arrived in Russia for her Born This Way Ball tour.

She hit St. Petersburg with a certain level of visual pageantry, looking like a modern version of the city's most famous fictional resident, Anna Karenina, if you can suspend disbelief for a second. Hey if Keira Knightley can play the role on the big screen...

Mother Monster was all done up, with her hair resembling some sort of silvery shade, as if she were wearing a wig of holiday tinsel. It was a bedazzled look for her, and her jacket was quite eye-catching, but nothing could compete with that hair piled atop her head in a complicated beehive.

Gaga tweeted upon her arrival, ready to absorb some Russian culture. She posted:

Just arrived in St. Petersburg Russia. Im so delighted to see so many monsters at the airport. Take me to the ballet!

But that's not all she wrote, literally!

Gaga tweeted a message of thanks to the country's prime minster, who has distanced himself from his party's anti-gay stances and showed support for her show.

Thank You Prime Minister Medvedev for not standing by your party's anti gay propaganda law & instead supporting my show+fans all over Russia

She also tweeted:

Prime Minister Medvedev please accept my gratitude I am looking forward to performing in RUSSIA & celebrating our cultures coming together.

That's our Gaga. She breaks down cultural barriers and always, always gets behind the LGBT community.
