No. 9: ‘Just Dance’ Feat. Colby O’Donis

Having been released as the debut single by Lady Gaga, the R&B-flecked party jam 'Just Dance’ was our introduction to the phenomenon we now know.

Being a song about carefree excess, the video for 'Just Dance' is quite apropos, taking place at a wild social gathering filled with a disco balls, liquor, sex and of course, dancing.

Upon release, the intoxicating song about being intoxicated became a near-instant club hit and launched Lady Gaga to superstar status. The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 in August 2008 at No. 76, and by January 2009, it had risen all the way to No. 2. Not too bad for a girl who used to make due as a waitress in N.Y.C.
