Gaga received this lower back tattoo when she was 22 years old and on the brink of stardom. She was mostly working as a songwriter for other artists at the time, but she had also been touring and performing with '90s boy band New Kids on the Block. Who would've guessed that just a little while later, her breakout hit 'Just Dance' would transform her from struggling musician Stefani Germanotta to international superstar Lady Gaga?
The roses tatted on Gaga's back are beautiful and extremely well done, and there's a good reason for that -- Gaga actually received the tattoo from acclaimed tattoo artist/television personality Kat Von D!
