Lady Gaga

Celebrated as much for her outrageous persona as she is for her many dance-pop gems, Lady Gaga has turned constant creative reinvention into an art form of its own. Her 24/7 performance art and endless supply of outlandish outfits – including a meat dress and a giant egg – have been unable to disguise the fact that underneath it all, she is a gifted singer-songwriter with an ear for writing hits. Born Stefani Germanotta in 1986, the New York native wrote songs for others before being discovered by Akon. Gaga won Grammys for her 2008 debut album, 'The Fame,' and its single, 'Poker Face.' Her EP 'The Fame Monster' spawned mega-hits 'Bad Romance' and 'Telephone' (featuring Beyonce), as well as the record-breaking Monster Ball Tour. The LGBT activist promoted a message of acceptance with her second full-length album, 'Born This Way.' Hip surgery sidelined Mother Monster in 2012, but she was soon back in action with 'ARTPOP.'
