Lamar Odom Showing More Signs of Improvement
Lamar Odom's condition has markedly improved, though the extent of his brain injuries remains to be seen. The L.A. Daily News reports that the former Lakers player has been successfully breathing without the aid of a ventilator for the past four days, and sources told the paper that he's also able to hold simple conversations.
Odom will reportedly begin physical therapy that will assess his ability to walk — something he hasn't done since he was found unconscious at Nevada brothel the Love Ranch South on October 13. He is believed to have suffered a stroke after ingesting a large amount of cocaine and an herbal "Viagra" supplement. The Daily News says that though the athlete is now fully awake and showing signs of improvement, he's receiving steady treatment of his lungs and kidneys, and the effects of the cocaine-related complications on his brain is still unclear.
Kim Kardashian, Odom's sister-in-law when he was married to Khloe Kardashian, shared an old photo of the two with a message of support late on Saturday night (October 17). Kim's Instagram post was among the latest in a steady stream of verbal support from Odom's colleagues and friends in the NBA and those from his high-profile onetime family by marriage, the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
