Her 'Born to Die' album is barely a year old and she just released her latest EP a few months ago, but it looks like Lana Del Rey is already hard at work on her next release.

A post on Del Rey's Facebook page serves as something like an official announcement (which was later removed) for the project: The soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann's upcoming 3D adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel 'The Great Gatsby.'

Lest you think Del Rey's woozy pop is a bit of an odd fit for a movie about the romantic vagaries of rich people in the Roaring Twenties, well, that's sort of the point; as he proved with 'Moulin Rouge!' and his take on 'Romeo + Juliet,' Luhrmann loves mashing up disparate (and occasionally downright anachronistic) elements in his films, and a peek at the first couple of 'Great Gatsby' trailers -- which included music from Florence + the Machine and Filter -- indicates he's heading in that direction again.

Del Rey hasn't said specifically what she'll be doing for the soundtrack, but as Idolator notes, she did an interview last November in which she said, "I’ve been helping composers write scores for movies. So, like, there’s a movie coming out in the summer that’s set in the 1920s and it’s been fun for me to write love songs for the woman who is the star."

And speaking of love, E! News seems to think that a certain piece of hardware that's been glittering on Del Rey's fingers might mean she's engaged to her boyfriend, musician Barrie-James O'Neill. We already know O'Neill is extremely (albeit rather strangely) fond of her -- maybe they're making it official.
