Hear a Demo of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Young and Beautiful’

Lana Del Rey shocked a lot of her critics and vindicated a lot of her fans with her contribution to 'The Great Gatsby' soundtrack. 'Young and Beautiful' is an operatic, epic ballad, lush with orchestral arrangements. The demo version leaked, and it's notably different -- but still as beautiful as the title suggests.

The demo version has smaller arrangements and simpler production, allowing Del Rey's vocals to be in the spotlight. There's a tinkling keyboard and some mild synths, all of which simply showcase the chanteuse's strength and aching passion in the track.

Fans of Del Rey's haunting lilt may prefer this ever-so-slightly uptempo to the string-heavy original, but both versions make it quite clear: No one pines for young love better than Lana.
