Lauren Alaina may be on top of the world after just releasing her debut album, 'Wildflower,' but at the end of the day, she's still a normal teenager. With that, naturally, comes strong views on Facebook etiquette.

In this day and age, the social networking site virtually connects you with friends, strangers and family members you didn't know you had. However, your online moves are on public display, and even at 16, Alaina knows better than to flippantly make announcements about her romantic life.

"I think it's embarrassing to be Facebook official, to be completely honest," she told CMT Radio. "Because when you're a teenager, you have a boyfriend and can break up the next week, and if you make it Facebook official you look like an idiot when you have a boyfriend one day, and the next day it's gone."

This is a smart perspective for the flirty Georgia native, who was at one point rumored to be dating 'American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery. Things also could have gotten complicated when Alaina was engaged for a day. Thankfully, she doesn't update her relationship status on the site.

However, if she did, she would be strategic about it. The singer added, "And if you're gonna put 'in a relationship,' don't tag the person on it. Just put 'in a relationship!' That way, people know you're in a relationship."
