Lauren Alaina Rejected from ‘America’s Got Talent’ … Twice!

Lauren Alaina sat down with Jay Leno on 'The Tonight Show' last night, where she not only outright denied rumors that she's dating fellow 'American Idol' star Scotty McCreery, but also spilled that she was actually rejected from 'America's Got Talent' ... Twice!

Alaina floored 'AGT' judge Piers Morgan, who was also a 'Tonight Show' guest, when she revealed that she tried out for his show -- twice -- and didn't make it. "You applied twice? You didn't come in front of the judges? You didn't even make it to the judges stage?" he asked her repeatedly, as she shook her head. "This is a scandal!"

But the 16-year-old 'AI' runner-up wasn't terribly miffed. "So, for all the people out there who try out for America's Got Talent and don't make it … Try out for 'American Idol!'" she joked, causing the audience to erupt in laughter.

But it's Alaina will have the last laugh. As the second place 'Idol' winner, she'll undoubtedly ride a strong music career. After all, it's been just two days out of the finale, and she's already dropped her first single.
