Reality TV may have made life tough for Lauren Conrad but one thing is clear: The former Hills leading lady landed on her feet. It's no secret that LC has achieved incredible success as a businesswoman, author and designer since leaving the show.

Despite the fact that Lauren's reality roots blossomed into an amazing success story, that path is off-limits to her kids.

"I definitely wouldn't encourage my child to do reality television," she tells Redbook in her April cover story.

What else does the Hills beauty reveal? Well, here's something that may surprise you: Lauren insists she was "never a person who was obsessed with the idea of marriage."

That's not exactly the sort of sentiment one would expect from a woman who recently launched a line of bridesmaid dresses. Lauren went on to explain that her current husband, William Tell, was "the first person [she] ever thought [she] could marry." If you listen closely, you can hear the breaking hearts of Lauren/Brody worshippers everywhere.

Aside from talking marriage and kids, Lauren also shared some career talk with the magazine.

"Over the last few years I've been able to work with several women who I really respected because they didn't take on that role of being a bitch. They were strong, but they were kind and they didn't need to shout to be heard. A lot of women feel like they need to be tough in order to be taken seriously. We have this idea that kindness is weakness, which I don't think is true," she said, proving that no matter how much time has passed since she bid farewell to the role of "the nice girl" on The Hills, Lauren Conrad is still a prime candidate for the title of America's sweetheart.
