Lea Michele appeared on today's (Dec. 12) 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' to perform new single 'Cannonball,' but she also revealed how she has been handling her grief over the late Cory Monteith.

Lea, who's still reeling from the July death of her 'Glee' co-star and boyfriend, opened up to Ellen about how she's dealt with her sadness.

"I really feel like I'm still trying to figure out all of this. It's been only a few months," she said in an interview segment on the show. "But my mom has experienced a lot of loss in her life, and she told me at one point, she said, 'There is an empowerment that comes with grief, at some point you find it. And it's very hard, but you will find it.'"

The singer and actress is definitely doing her best to carry on with living, and carry on her Cory's memory.

"I think that at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this, or you can choose to rise," she tells Ellen. "I'm just trying to do my best for him, 'cause I know that's what he would have wanted. And to just do my best and hopefully make something positive for where I go in the rest of my life."

In that vein, she unveiled the full version of her first single, 'Cannonball,' which fans got a 90-second preview of just days ago. The track appears on her upcoming debut album, 'Louder.'
