Leonardo DiCaprio and Dame Maggie Smith Smooch for BAFTA Kiss Cam
Leonardo DiCaprio won big at the BAFTAs this weekend, taking home a Best Actor award for his grueling performance in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant. The prize was his first from the esteemed British award show (he previously lost for The Aviator, The Departed, and, tragically, The Wolf of Wall Street) and the film itself had a momentous night, winning for Best Film and Best Director.
And while BAFTAs are great and all, they can’t keep you warm at night—which is why Leo’s chance romantic encounter with Dame Maggie Smith was truly the actor’s grand prize of the evening.

It all began when host Stephan Fry introduced the audience to the BAFTA kiss cam, an invention meant for basketball and hockey games but better off utilized, as you’ll see above, on A-list talents. During the bit, the cam caught a handful of celebrity smoochers—from Cuba Gooding Jr. lovingly kissing Stanley Tucci’s bald head to Bryan Cranston and Julianne Moore making out like teenagers to a passionate kiss shared by Rebel Wilson and Eddie Izzard—getting acquainted with one another.
But it was man of the hour DiCaprio and his leading lady Smith who stole the show with a classy kiss on the cheek, the legendary womanizer turning countless shades of blush after the respectful yet cheeky kiss.
After all, sometimes it just takes a Downton Abbey dame to tame a wolf of Wall Street.
