Lil Wayne closed out the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night with a performance that showcased two sides of his musical talents.

After an introduction by his good buddy Drake, Weezy took the stage to perform his slow-burner 'How To Love,' as tender a song as you'll ever hear from the hip-hop superstar. With an assist from auto-tune, Wayne delivered a laid-back rendition of the love ditty.

But he flicked the switch when he transitioned from 'How To Love' to 'John.' Backed by a full band that started out with the heavy riff from Black Sabbath's 'Iron Man,' Weezy tore into the track with reckless abandon.

Unfortunately, half the lyrics to 'John' were silenced out by MTV censors, making it a tough listen through the TV screen and a slightly bizarre ending to the show.

Both songs appear on Wayne's new album, 'Tha Carter IV,' which just dropped moments ago on iTunes.
