After an emotional several months, British singer Lily Allen is stepping forward in a new UK-produced documentary titled ‘Lily Allen: Riches to Rags’ to discuss her recent battles, including her second miscarriage last fall and her eating disorder.

According to the Daily Mail, the documentary was filmed over a seven-month period, from March until October of 2010. It shows a vulnerable and softer side of the 25-year-old singer, who opens up about her sadness of losing her second child six months into her pregnancy last year.

“It was a really long battle,” Allen says in the interview. “I think that kind of thing changes a person.”

In the interview, Allen also admits her drastic weight loss over the years was the result of an eating disorder. “I used to vomit after meals,” she says. “It's not something I'm proud of, but I tell you what …  A lot of people came up to me telling me how great I looked, and I'd be on the cover of every magazine.”

But that boost of confidence was only skin deep, as she quickly realized she was no longer happy on the inside.

“I thought I looked good and it was great to be able to try on clothes and feel a million dollars, but I wasn't happy. I really wasn't,” says the singer. “I would love to be the skinniest minniest person in the world, but I can't do that without being unhappy. I like food. Don't make me feel s--- for not being really skinny and having an eating disorder.”

Allen is now in a better place and has many things on the horizon to look forward to, including her upcoming wedding to building company owner, Sam Cooper. The couple, who have been dating since 2009, are set to wed later this year.

‘Lily Allen: Riches to Rags’ airs on March 15 in the UK.
