Lindsay Lohan raised eyebrows over the weekend after deleting all of her photos on Instagram and changing her bio to the Arabic phrase "Alaikum salam," a saying which translates to "Peace be unto you." Social media and tabloids speculated that the Mean Girls star had converted to Islam, although reps for the actress claim otherwise.

“She has not converted [to Islam]," a rep tells Gossip Cop. The site also says that Lindsay's mother, Dina Lohan, has claimed that Lindsay is taking a break from social media.

In 2015, Lohan was photographed holding the Quran, the religious text of Islam, and claims she received hate messages from some Americans as a result. “The Quran opened doors for me to experience spiritually, to find another true meaning. This is who I am," Lohan told Turkish TV station Habertürk TV. “They crucified me for it in America. They made me seem like Satan. I was a bad person for holding that Quran.”

"I was so happy to leave [America] and go back to London after that, because I felt so unsafe in my own country," she added.
