San Diego musician Carlos Serrano has created a new mashup that deftly mixes two artists whose musical styles are miles apart — extraordinary vocalist Adele and French electronic duo Daft Punk.

Though it's easy to assume the mashup is simply Adele's voice set to a fast-paced Daft Punk dance track, it's actually much more imaginative than that. 'Something About the Fire' blends Adele's latest No. 1 hit 'Set Fire to the Rain' with Daft Punk's 'Something About Us.'

'Something About Us,' a track from the 2001 album 'Discovery,' is a hazy, funky slow jam that lends itself to a strong vocal like the one from Adele's chart-topping hit. The songs meld together not just musically, but also in terms of theme, as both ponder the good and bad parts of a relationship. Between Adele verses, the Daft Punk vocal loop appears: "It might not be the right time / I might not be the right one / But there's something about us I want to say / Cause there's something between us anyway."

Listen to both of these Grammy-winning performers as you've never heard them before on the Serrano remix below.
