James Comey, the former FBI director, is giving testimony live on Capitol Hill this morning in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee. He is expected to discuss his various meetings and conversations with President Trump, specifically regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Trump fired Comey last month, after allegedly asking Comey to slow down or cease the FBI's investigation into possible collusion between Russian operatives and the Trump presidential campaign. Comey refused to back off the investigation.

Comey's opening remarks were released yesterday. Today he faces questioning from 15 senators:

Republicans

  • Richard Burr, North Carolina (chair)
  • James Risch, Idaho
  • Marco Rubio, Florida
  • Susan Collins, Maine
  • Roy Blunt, Missouri
  • James Lankford, Oklahoma
  • Tom Cotton, Arkansas
  • John Cornyn, Texas

Democrats

  • Mark Warner, Virginia (vice chair)
  • Dianne Feinstein, California
  • Ron Wyden, Oregon
  • Martin Heinrich, New Mexico
  • Angus King, Maine
  • Joe Manchin, West Virginia
  • Kamala Harris, California

The hearing will wrap up by 1 p.m., at which time Comey and Intelligence Committee members will attend a closed session to discuss related matters that are classified and cannot be publicized.
