Louis Tomlinson has filed for joint custody of his son, Freddie Reign, after several of his visitation attempts have allegedly been thwarted by the child's mother, Briana Jungwirth.

The request reportedly comes from a desire on Louis’ end to be more present in his son’s life — something he claims has become increasingly difficult as Jungwirth, has been “inconsistent,” with how much time and access to Freddie she’s been willing to give him, according to TMZ.

Reports of an impending custody battle first surfaced back in February — just a month after Freddie was born — indicating Tomlinson had hired lawyers after Jungwirth supposedly barred him from seeing their son.

The couple reached a temporary settlement hours later, TMZ reported, which gave Tomlinson visitation rights to his son for several hours during the week, though he was not allowed any overnight visits with Freddie. A joint custody agreement would afford both parents equal access to their child.

As for why Jungwirth has restricted access to Tomlinson, he allegedly believes it comes down to jealousy over his new girlfriend, actress Danielle Campbell. But TMZ reports Jungwirth thinks Campbell is “nothing more than a crazed fan” and feels unsafe around The Originals actress, who has access to her home whenever she's with Tomlinson.

Tomlinson, meanwhile, is reportedly paying Jungwirth $15,000 per month in child support and is renting out a $1 million Calabasas house for both her and Freddie to live in.
