Madonna still knows how to call attention to herself. The singer attended the GLAAD Media Awards (March 16) to hand out the Vito Russo Award to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, a move that incensed little monsters ... and she did so while dressed as a Boy Scout.

This was Madge's take on the menswear trend, right? Wrong. She was dressing in drag? Nope. It was her way of speaking to the gay community and addressing the what she feels is the idiocy of the Boy Scouts' gay ban.

"I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but they wouldn't let me join. That's f---ed up. I can build a fire. I know how to pitch a tent. I have a very good sense of direction. I can rescue kittens from trees. I want to do good for the community but most important, I know how to scout for boys," she said during her 10-minute speech.

She joked that was kicked out of the Girl Scouts because "my skirt was too short, and I never sold enough cookies. I ate the cookies." She also shouted out those yummy peanut butter patties.

The Material Girl also spoke about how we should love our neighbors as ourselves and made a few further jokes while talking to the crowd while referencing world conflicts related to the LGBT community.

Her Madgesty then turned things over to the flawless Cooper, whom she called "brave," a word she doesn't fling around often. They even shared a big smooch.

Check out Madge's update on the Boy Scout uni, which she paired with leather fingereless gloves, fishnets and combat boots. She looks like a park ranger! But the point was well-taken.
