Like boxer Muhammad Ali, Madonna is the greatest. Congrats are in order for the Material Girl, who was selected as the 'Greatest Woman in Music' by VH1 on their '100 Greatest Women in Music' special, according to MTV.

The special looked back upon the greatest female artists of the past two decades, with the guidelines for selection being that they had to release music anytime between 1990 through today.

Other women who occupied the list include Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Kesha. The Top 10 included Adele, the late Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Carey cruised into the No. 2 spot on the list.

That's almost too much diva for one list. Madge topped a pretty impressive crop of artists, proving that after all these years, she is still reigns atop of the pop food chain. The hard, fast rule is that Madonna rules the roost. No one else even comes close. It's not like we needed a VH1 list to reiterate that indisputable fact -- but it is a nice feather in Madge's cap to be recognized for what we already know. Don't think she doesn't know it herself. Her confidence is what got her there in the first place.

Madge will release her new album 'MDNA' on March 26.
