Madonna Says ‘Imitation is the Highest Form of Flattery’ as She Disses Lady Gaga Again
Madonna really likes to beat a dead horse, doesn't she? The singer dissed her (much younger) rival Lady Gaga onstage again, this time in Atlantic City. Madge dedicated her performance of her Golden Globe-winning song 'Masterpiece' to Gaga, and she added a nasty insult to the "dedication." Doesn't she have anything better to do than take cheap pot shots at Gaga? This rivalry is so January 2012, isn't it?
In the fan-filmed footage, Madge says, "I do love her. Imitation is the highest form of flattery." She continued, suggesting that the two divas will one day perform together, which doesn't make any sense, since just trashed her! Madge finished, "And one day, very soon, we're gonna be on stage together. Just you wait."
Don't be fooled for a second, little monsters or anyone else. Madge was not complimenting the Mother Monster here. She was insulting her by saying she copies off her, much like any kindergartner would do in the sandbox. Her comments were such a dig at Gaga and like Ma Monster's good friend Elton John, we don't quite understand the need to continue to lash out at Gaga and insult her over and over again. Enough is enough. Gaga has never resorted to sinking to the same level and hurling insults at Madge; she has addressed it, but she has also risen above it.
Our take? Get over it, Madge. It makes you look petty.
What do you think, PopCrushers? Is Madge out of line with her continued verbal battery of Gaga? Or do you think that Gaga is a Madge wannabe and copycat?
