Madonna will always make the most headlines for her on-stage clownery and messy social media posts, but her continued charity work in Africa could stand some of that same media amplification. Let's be a part of spreading that awareness, shall we?

While much of the United States spent this past Fourth of July weekend gorging on hot dogs and lounging under the sun, the Queen of Pop and her children, including Lourdes and Rocco, put in serious work in Kenya, painting walls at schools and getting their hands dirty (quite literally) while raking up garbage in muddy waters in Kibera.

During the trip, Madonna met with the First Lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta, to discuss working with the First Lady's Beyond Zero campaign, an initiative to improve maternal and child health through prenatal and postnatal medical treatment, and aims to eliminate new HIV infections among children.

"Meeting with Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta, the first lady of Kenya! Learning about her Beyond Zero Campaign which targets eliminating maternal and child mortality in Kenya and hoping to join forces to promote Female Empowerment! Around the World!" she wrote.

Despite the dire conditions, Madge kept it light on social media with encouraging messages and uplifting pictures of herself and her kids meeting with the community and providing a helping hand. (With plenty of emojis for added emphasis, of course.)

On Sunday (July 3), Madonna shared a photo with a woman named Mama Sofie, by whom she felt particularly humbled.

"This Amazing Woman lives in a 10 by 10 dwelling in Kibera with her 14 children-2 adopted. Her husband killed in a political uprising. She's starting her own business with the help of @shofco. God Bless Her!" she said.

She also heavily promoted the organization Shining Hope for Communities (@SHOFCO) in all of her posts which, according to their mission statement, works to "link free schools for girls in Kenyan slums to essential services for the whole community, like clean water, free health care & more."

"We're grateful for all of your support!" the organization wrote in response.

This is all in addition to her non-profit organization Raising Malawi founded in 2006 with Michael Berg, which aims to support the impoverished children and orphans of Malawi.
