Celine Dion's home near Montreal was broken into on Monday, and instead of jacking valuables, the 36-year-old culprit, named Daniel Bedard, helped himself to some snacks in the fridge and drew himself a hot bath. Icky!

The Associated Press (via Billboard) reports that the man was picked up by police on Monday afternoon. The alarm system went off and the perpetrator was caught when a canine unit arrived on scene.

"He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath (and) he even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge," Laval police spokesman Franco Di Genova said.

"The suspect was coming down the big staircase and was asking: 'Hey, guys what are you doing here?'" Di Genova continued. "So the officers replied: 'What are you doing here?' and they proceeded to put him under arrest." This almost feels like a scene from a comedy!

Dion and her husband Rene Angelil were not home at the time of the break in. They reside in Florida and keep the home in Quebec for when they are back in Canada.

The perp gained access by jumping a fence and using a garage door opener he found in an unlocked vehicle on the property. It was as simple as that!

Bedard is a Laval resident. He was arraigned on Tuesday on charges of breaking and entering, auto theft and causing property damage. The home was also cased back in 2009. A man jumped the fence and tried to enter, but was stopped by a security firm that was monitoring the location.
