Nicki Minaj had some sassy words to say about her feud with Mariah Carey on the 'American Idol' set, and now Mimi is talking to Barbara Walters about the issues she and the Harajuku Barbie experienced on set.

"It felt like an unsafe work environment," she told the hostess with the mostess (quotes via Radar Online). "Anytime anybody's reeling threats at somebody, you know, it's not appropriate. I'm a professional," she added pointedly. "I'm not used to that type of environment."

When Walters asked Carey about why she beefed up her security, the pop legend responded simply, "Just felt [like] the appropriate thing to do. Sitting there on the road with two babies -- I'm not going to take any chances." Mimi's got that Mama Bear instinct.

Still Carey sees a silver lining in the dramatic cloud. "For all the drama, I hope it helps the show," she said. "I think it's a classic, classy show and it didn't need this." Ouch!
