Expectant mom-to-be superstar Mariah Carey is already treating her unborn twins to a privileged life by throwing down $100,000 on their elaborate nursery.

In the latest issue of Life & Style magazine, Carey takes the readers inside the breathtaking nursery that is balanced with unisex colors. The room is filled with the singer's personal touches, as well as her husband's, Nick Cannon.

"I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment for the babies," Carey tells the magazine, revealing that the crib alone cost a whopping $30,000. "Everything matches, but pieces are individualized to celebrate the twins as separate entities."

Their new nursery at their Bel-Air, Calif., mansion is one of the two they have prepared for the babies-on-the-way, as Carey and Cannon split their time between New York and California due to their line of work.

"I prefer the East Coast schooling over the West Coast," says Cannon, whose work includes hosting gigs on both radio and television. "But there are other things that come into play, like work."

"Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world," Carey adds. "I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us. It's going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamor and keeping them grounded. One thing I'm sure of is that I'll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what."

Carey is due to give birth any day now. The twins are the first children for both herself, 41, and Cannon, 30.
