Mariah Carey Partners with Rick Ross + Meek Mill For ‘Triumphant’ New Single
Mariah Carey is back! After a two-year hiatus from music, the R&B diva will return in August with a new single from her as-yet-untitled studio album. Mimi teamed up with rap superstars Rick Ross and Meek Mill for a song called 'Triumphant (Get 'Em).'
Mariah went on her Twitter page Saturday morning (July 21) to inform her fans (affectionately known as "her Lambs") of the good news. "So I can finally announce to you that my new single is coming out early August! It's called TRIUMPHANT (Get 'Em) ft. Rick Ross & Meek Mill," she tweeted. She later added, " I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics #WIN."
It's certainly a "win" for her lambs who have been waiting patiently for Carey to drop some new material. "So thrilled for this news! Go get 'em, as the subtitle goes! #MariahTriumphant," tweeted one fan.
According to Rap-Up, 'Triumphant' was produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. Mimi and Rozay recorded the song together in Miami back in April. Adding Milly on the track will certainly bring more visibility to the Philly spitfire, as well.
In attention to the new single, Carey will also be honored with the BMI Icon award at the BMI Urban Awards on Sept. 7 in Beverly Hills, Calif. The Grammy-winning songbird is being saluted for her "unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers." Carey will join an impressive list of BMI Icon honorees including Snoop Dogg, James Brown, the Jacksons, George Clinton, Bee Gees and many others.
Stay tuned to PopCrush for more info on Mariah Carey's new single. We can't wait to hear it.
