Last week, news broke that Maroon 5 will likely be performing at the NFL Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show in February 2019, but it looks like there's another big name that wants to play the iconic set.

Mariah Carey was approached by reporters during a dinner at Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood (after attending Beyonce and Jay-Z's On The Run II LA concert at the Rose Bowl), where she was asked if she'd be open to doing a Super Bowl Halftime show.

"I would love to!" the diva replied.

Though Carey has (surprisingly) never performed on a Super Bowl Halftime stage before, she did sing the national anthem at the 2002 Super Bowl in New Orleans. Will the NFL give the pop legend what she wants? Only time will tell. But regardless, she'll be sittin' pretty next year with her The Butterfly Returns Las Vegas residency.

Cardi B is also reportedly in talks about performing "Girls Like You," her remix with Maroon 5, during the Super Bowl Halftime show. However, it sounds like the rapper will only agree if she can have her own solo set, too.

Super Bowl LIII will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on February 3, 2019.

Last year's Super Bowl Halftime Show performer was Justin Timberlake. The pop star did not have any musical guests.
