Despite their 'American Idol' feuding, judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj have a lot in common. Both are native New Yorkers, fashionistas in their own right, superstars in the pop music world and apparently lovers of nail polish, as both divas have their own line of lacquers with OPI.

However, like their outward appearances, Mimi and Nicki's OPI nail polishes are quite different, from the types of shades to the glitzy special effects within each bottle. The question is, which line of lacquers is more suitable to your own taste?

Carey's partnership with OPI was announced back in late 2012, and the eight shades within her collection debuted in mid-January. The singer's two-part, Spring 2013 line boasts one set of four "studio" shades, as well as four "stage" shades. The glittery studio shades feature OPI's latest technology, a "Liquid Sand" finish, a "pebbled finish that lightly shimmers with fine glitter particles." The coolest part? The Liquid Sand lacquers do not require a top coat, and leave a matte appearance once dry.

Below, you can see Carey's OPI shades. In order of appearance, the individual polish names are as follow: A Butterfly Moment, Sprung, Pink Yet Lavender, Anti-Bleak, Stay the Night, Get Your Number, Can't Let Go and the Impossible.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj announced her OPI partnership way back in Oct. 2011, and her six polishes hit shelves in Jan. 2012. The 'Va Va Voom' vixen's collection is very Harajuku Barbie, with bright, vivid colors and a variety of different finishes. One of the OPI polishes has a "shatter" finish, meaning it will create a cool crackle effect once applied, and two of them have their own various, shimmery finishes. Finally, the three remaining shades are just regular old lacquer with a high-gloss finish, except there's nothing ordinary about the brilliant shades of green, blue and pink.
