'Hello,' the peppy dance hit by French DJ Martin Solveig and Canadian electropop band Dragonette, has been remixed by Rock-It! Scientists.

The remix slices up the vocals of Dragonette singer Martina Sorbara, altering them to match the slowed-down tempo.

With its bright keyboards removed from the mix, the new version of 'Hello' feels more like a hip-hop track. A new rap verse describes conflict between two characters: "I ain't even mad at you / But on the real, you know you messed up, baby, haven't you?"

Rock-It! Scientists are DJs Solarz and Guzie from Oakland, California. Their website features a number of remixes of popular acts, including Jay-Z, Kanye West and Shakira.

The original recording of 'Hello' was a worldwide smash, reaching the Top 10 in Canada, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and New Zealand, among other places.

In the US, the song received a boost thanks to a high-profile placement in a Trident Vitality commercial. That helped launch the track into the Top 100 and to the No. 1 spot on two American dance charts.
