Chart-topping songbirds Mary J. Blige, Florence + the Machine, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J, Kelly Clarkson and Jill Scott have been tapped to perform at the annual VH1 Divas special, which will air on Dec. 19 at 9PM EST. This year, the music channel will pay tribute to soulful cities and their respective genres.

Among the cities that are being honored include Detroit, London, Memphis, Philadelphia and Chicago. And the ladies will have a great band backing them up -- the Roots, with Questlove as musical director, will provide the music for the night's soulful extravaganza.

"This year's telecast will showcase the vast impact soul music has had on the 21st century's music and pop culture landscape as our talented and diverse lineup will attest," said Lee Rolontz, EVP of VH1 and VH1 Classic. "This year's 'Divas' offers a modern twist on soul music, all while tipping its hat to the legacy of key cities that created this musical heritage."

Obviously, with Detroit being honored, the songbirds will perform some Motown classics. With Philadelphia natives the Roots and Scott hitting the stage, Philly will be represented well. Florence Welch and Jessie J can certainly handle hits from the city of London. This is going to be a great year-end show. Don't miss it!
