Before he was busting a groove on Glee, Matthew Morrison was a just another college student who was trying to make it. Well, Jimmy Fallon brought him back to those good ole college days when the late night talk show host pulled out an old hip-hop instructional video Matthew did in 1999 on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night (March 3).

Pulling out the original VHS tape, Matthew cringed in his seat looking his younger self wearing an unzipped red jacket and track pants on the cover of the tape, especially since he realized no one chose that outfit but him. "This was my own wardrobe," he said. "I rode the subway in that and it took local stops too."

So how did this all happen? Matthew explained that while he was in college, his former dance teacher asked him to be part of the project. "I was at NYU and my dance teacher Bob Rizzo," he said about the old video, "he did dance instructional videos and he asked me to do it and I thought it was the biggest thing ever. I was like, 'Yeah! I'm on a VHS tape – one that you can't record over.'"

And if you think this is just another one of Jimmy's spoofs, he presents one of the video's highlights showing Matthew hopping around and ending the choreography in one of Michael Jackson's signature poses.

Matthew wasn't just in New York to stop by The Tonight Show. He's also returning to Broadway as J.M. Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan, in Finding Neverland, which opens on April 15.
