Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass' has become the surprise breakout song and music video of the summer, having reached as high as the number two spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The self-empowering lyrics have been critically acclaimed, but the throwback retro beat has also been one of the most unforgettable tunes this year.

But was the song inspired by a Korean pop song?

Mwave reports that some K-pop fans have pointed out similarities between 'All About That Bass' and a song from 2006 called 'Happy Mode' from a K-pop group called Koyote. Some have even gone as far accusing 'All About That Bass' as being plagiarized from 'Happy Mode.'

One fan posted a video with the two tracks played together simultaneously. Listen for yourself below to see if you can hear the similarities.

Korean songwriter Joo Young Hoon, who wrote the lyrics and produced the song, even took to Twitter to write in Korean, "I am consulting a specialized lawyer."

Oh No They Didn't has found another video online that compares the two songs, but played separately.

So what do you think? Do the two songs sound too similar?
