Meghan Trainor Cancels Remainder of Her Tour
Life is full of disappointments. And if you’re a Meghan Trainor fan who was hoping to see her at some point on her current tour, you’re about to feel the full weight and truth of that statement, head-on.
Meghan was forced to cancel the remainder of her North American tour due to renewed vocal cord hemorrhaging, that she says was worsened by a bad case of bronchitis. She announced the news via a statement posted to Instagram earlier today (Aug 11), apologizing to her fans. You can check out the full announcement below:
To all my fans — I was being careful and taking precautions, but I have hemorrhaged my vocal cord again. I got bronchitis & have been coughing a lot & that pushed it over the edge. Sadly, I will need to cancel the remainder of my tour and get surgery to finally fix this once and for all. I am devastated, scared, and so sorry. I LOVE touring and seeing your beautiful faces every night. I am determined to do what it takes to get better and come back around stronger than ever. I love you, and thank you for your understanding, love and support.
The cancelation follows a recent doctor’s order that put her on complete vocal rest after initially hemorrhaging her vocal cords just last month. She was forced to postpone two of her July concerts at the time, hoping to make a full recovery.
Meghan also posted an apology to her opening acts, Charlie Puth and Life of Dillon, for having to cut the remainder of the tour. She wrote (also via Instagram), “I’m sorry to my amazing openers that we had to cut it short. @charlieputh @lifeofdillon you guys put on great shows every night with big smiles and I will be forever grateful that you were a part of this experience, even though it was cut too soon. Thank you and your teams for everything.”
Both acts tweeted their support shortly after the announcement came out.
everyone please send positive vibes and messages to @Meghan_Trainor. this break is a blessing in disguise and you will come back stronger.
