From Villain of the Year (with both Taylor Swift and Harry Styles nominated for that one this year) to Worst Band of 2014, the NME Awards have some of the more bizarre categories we've ever seen at an awards show. And while we can't say we would be particularly thrilled to be nominated for either of those things, some artists see it a different way.

5 Seconds of Summer were nominated for Worst Band of 2014 (along with One Direction, Bastille, Blink-182, the 1975 and U2), and rather than feel downtrodden or even just ignoring it, Michael Clifford took to Twitter to express how awesome it would be if they won the award. Say what?! We're totally serious. Check out Michael's tweet below:

There's definitely something to be said for a band who can take this kind of thing in stride. We love the fact that Michael is encouraging fans to vote for 5SOS to win the title of worst band, even if we don't think they deserve it!

What do you guys think? Would you be totally thrilled just to be nominated for an NME Award, no matter the title? Or would you embrace the negativity like Michael and even hope for a win?

The NME Awards take place on Feb. 18 at London's O2 Academy Brixton, so we'll find out who the lucky winner is then.
