There's not much Miley Cyrus can do that would shock us anymore, but smoking a joint during her acceptance speech for 'Best Video' at MTV's European Music Awards on Nov. 10 certainly raised a few eyebrows. But that wasn't the singer's goal -- she just thought it would be hilarious.

Cyrus recently revealed her intentions behind the stunt during a visit to a U.K. radio station on Nov. 13.

"I was just walking out of my room and then I was like, 'Oh I have this in my bag, that will be really funny,'" Cyrus told the show, confirming that she was smoking pot. "And I didn't say anything to anybody. It's not that I think about that, and I don't tell anyone I'm gonna do it because then they're going to tell me no."

While the act may have been spontaneous, Cyrus claims she did it to please her Dutch fans.

"Some people I think overthink stuff so much… that's not why I do it," she explained. "I just did it mostly because I knew the fans in Amsterdam would love it and they started going crazy when I did it."

"It's kind of funny because after you do something like that -- everyone doesn't want to talk as much about your performances," the singer, who performed both 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' continued. "But this is one of my favorite things about coming to Europe... Even though that happened, it's not like the main focus of the night."

"Everyone was coming up and hitting me up about my performance and how I sound," she said.
