Miley Cyrus hasn't released an album in so long that a lot of us almost forgot why she was famous. Thankfully, the newly shorn starlet is working on new music -- and it's coming soon!

Cyrus was on hand to introduce Lil Wayne at the iHeart Radio Festival, and she revealed that she actually can relate to the Young Money rapper. No, she's not an avid skateboarder, a parent, a cough syriup enthusiast, nor an MC, but like Weezy, the girl loves being in the studio.

When an interviewer for Billboard noted that Wayne "lives in the studio," Cyrus grew increasingly enthused. "It's a good life to live," she said. "I've been doing that for the past few months on my record, and I can see why people just do mixtapes constantly, 'cause you get into that groove where you're like, 'I don't really want to get out of my pajamas today, but I want to go to work, I want to make sick music and hang out and chill and write,'" she added. "It's so rewarding just waiting for those mixes," she gushed. "You're just sitting there waiting by your phone for it to be done mastering and stuff, and it's just such a fun process."

"I've been writing and working on my record, I've been in so many sessions," Cyrus, who also noted that she's working with Da Internz and Pharrell, said. "Just kind of bunkering down and working really hard and perfecting everything. I've never really had time to do that, to kind of have my record kind of 'done' and then sit there and make it until it's perfect. So, it's been really, really fun," she added. "This whole year that's all I've really dedicated life to."

When asked when we can expect to hear her newly perfected sound, Cyrus also revealed, perhaps unintentionally, that her relationship with her longtime label, Hollywood Records, may be in limbo. "by the end of this year we'll have a single out," she assured. "Right now I'm just kind of meeting with labels and enjoying making the record I want to make before there gets be too many people involved saying their vision," she said. "I just want to make sure it's exactly what I want first."

Cyrus wasn't all business at the festival, though: She also had a pretty hilarious encounter with Flavor Flav, who mistook her for No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani backstage. We're surprised he didn't get her mixed up with Pink, who actually took the stage with the ska-pop comeback kids!
