Miley Cyrus Hires Britney Spears’ Manager
That Larry Rudolph sure likes to keep his hands full with a whole lotta diva. Miley Cyrus, who is mounting her post-Disney and post-Hannah Montana career with lots of short hair, sexy guest spots on EDM songs and a new label home at RCA, has hired Rudolph as her manager.
Rudolph is best known for managing Britney Spears during her heyday (from 1999 to 2004). He returned to the job to help to navigate her "recovery" from that head-shaving meltdown in 2008, and guided her through the 'Femme Fatale' comeback.
E! reports that Cyrus has made the management change for a good reason. Rudolph has the type of experience she needs as she enters this next critical phase of her career. "Larry has the track record to handle an international pop star like Miley," a source close to the situation said.
It's a smart move. Miley has to make the jump out of the teen world and a new manager who knows that trajectory is just what she needs.
Miley's mother Tish will remain on as a co-manager. Or co-momager. So while Cyrus has hired a veteran who knows how to handle divas with names like Spears, she continues to have her family involved.
With Rudolph steering the Cyrus ship, there are likely some big things on the horizon for Miss Miley as she sheds her teen image and becomes a woman. She's not quite a girl anymore, to borrow a lyrical phrase from Miss Spears.
Perhaps Rudolph will be able arrange a duet or a tour between his two major clients?
