Putting her salvia smoking incident and the drama that ensued from her parents’ split (and we all know they've since reconciled) behind her, Miley Cyrus has sprung into positive action this spring -- teaming up with the Starkey Hearing Foundation!

Just Jared reports that Miss Miley will help the organization spread awareness about how important the sense of sound is. Considering that Cyrus makes a living with her pipes and depends on people hearing her voice when she sings, this is a smart endeavor for her to get involved with!

Cyrus, 18, is launching a campaign dubbed Listen Carefully, which targets young adults and gives them information about protecting their hearing by lowering the volume. It's a simple step but one that will preserve the precious sense of hearing for years to come. Knowledge is power and Cyrus is working to inform the youth of today.

In a statement, Cyrus, who is currently touring on her Gypsy Heart tour, said, "As an artist, I want to make sure fans are able to experience the magic of music as it was intended. By just lowering the volume and using the right protection for your ears, hearing loss can be prevented, which means never losing the ability to enjoy the sound of a guitar, a beautiful lyric, or a favorite song."

One of the first initiatives that Cyrus has launched to spread the word is the Listen Carefully Sweepstakes, which is active through June 15. Fans can enter to win a "listening experience" with Cyrus as she soundchecks before her performance at the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s Annual Awards Gala on July 24 in Minneapolis. That's a pretty unique prize and it's all for a worthwhile cause.
