Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Shelton Woolright have been named as new judges on The X Factor New Zealand. They replace Natalia Kills and Willy Moon, following their firing from the show earlier this week.

Natalie is an Australian actress and singer tasked with mentoring the show's boys. She's no stranger to the The X Factor franchise: She judged the third season of Australian version of the show.

"I am thrilled to be joining The X Factor New Zealand family and I can't wait to begin mentoring my boys," Natalie reportedly said in a statement.

Shelton is a drummer for London rock band I Am Giant. "I am absolutely stoked to be involved in X Factor NZ and I'm especially looking forward to working with the Groups," he said of his new job.

On Monday (March 16), wife and husband Natalia Kills and Willy Moon were fired from their judging roles on the singing reality TV competition after they delivered scathing criticsm to a contestant. Kills accused 25-year-old Joe Irvine of copying Moon, calling him a "laughingstock," "cheesy" and "disgusting." Her husband echoed her sentiments, calling the performance "creepy."

The couple apologized for their remarks, and seemed eager to move on, in a statement posted to Natalia's Twitter on Wednesday (March 18).

“A lot goes on behind the scenes of a reality show and what you see isn’t always the whole story," Kills said. "The show brought me on to bring my passion, dramatic expression and perspective,” she said. “I was encouraged to be outspoken and things got out of hand. Joe, I hope you can forgive me and I wish you all the best! Be natural, unconventional and be you!”
