Watch Naval Crew Celebrate Christmas With Mariah Carey Lip Syncing Session
If there's one thing that will get you in the Christmas spirit, it's learning that you're going home to see family for the holidays when you thought you weren't before.
When the crew aboard British military carrier HMS Ocean got the good news that they'd be docking at home this year, they decided to make a celebratory music video for Mariah Carey's Christmas staple, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.' The result? The jolliest good time we've ever seen.
Hilarity ensues almost immediately in this clip, which has gone viral on the web. But dancing shirtless men shaking their Christmas packages aside, it's actually incredibly heartwarming. It's easy to see the delight in everyone's face, and we're touched knowing that the Royal Navy aboard the ship will be surrounded by loved ones soon -- a luxury many of us likely take for granted.
On Monday, Mariah Carey herself stumbled up on the clip, which she then shared with her five million Twitter followers. Clearly in awe, she tweeted, "This is the best thing I've ever seen, you guys just made my day! Happy Happy Christmas!!! x0x0 to the troops."
Move over, 'Love Actually.' The four-minute video is like a comedic 'Where's Waldo?', as servicemen and women lip sync the lines to the song from all levels of the ship -- even the shower -- with many decked out in the gayest of apparel, like silver tinsel, British flags as skirts, gargantuan ornament head cutouts, bikinis and more.
In the description posted below the video on YouTube, the HMS Ocrean crew explained what deploying is really like for them. They've been at sea for 225 days, and in that time, 15 babies have been born, five people were sent home to attend their own weddings, and summer holidays have long passed.
We suspect that when the ship docks on dry land, it will be quite the celebration -- though it surely won't top this viral video.
