A week after Nelly allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on his tour bus on October 7, the accuser now reportedly aims to drop the investigation against the rapper in order to avoid public scrutiny.

According to JustJared, a letter was submitted by the woman's lawyer to the Auburn Police Department and King County D.A. in Washington, D.C.

"We do not live in a society where a 21-year-old college student can feel safe enough to pursue criminal charges against a celebrity for an alleged rape," read the letter, according to The Blast.

Last week, Nelly made a statement and clarified the accusations in a Twitter thread.
