The music community is still in mourning over the untimely death of Whitney Houston. This past weekend, Whitney's grief-stricken ex-husband Bobby Brown performed with New Edition in Mississippi just hours after learning that his former wife had passed away. Members of N.E. released a statement regarding the death of the late pop icon.

In it, the group expressed their condolences to Houston and her family:

"We are absolutely shocked and saddened by the sudden and untimely death of our dear sister Whitney. As a group, we are extremely close; when one of us hurts, we all hurt. As much as we are in pain right now, we will continue to draw strength from God, as we support and comfort our brother Bobby, their daughter Bobbi-Christina and Whitney's mother Cissy Houston. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the entire Brown-Houston family today and always."

Brown left the tour Saturday night to be with his daughter Bobbi Kristina -- his only child with Houston during their 15 year marriage -- who was hospitalized after consuming a deadly cocktail of alcohol and sedatives. Family members are fearful that she may be suicidal and are thinking of putting Kristina in rehab.

PopCrush continues to send condolences and prayers to the Houston family, Bobby Brown and Bobbi Kristina. Rest in peace, Whitney.
