Just when we thought Nick Cannon was in the clear after changing his eating habits after suffering mild kidney failure last month, it turns out Mariah Carey's husband and the host of 'America's Got Talent' was hospitalized against last week. He was suffering from pain in both his chest and right arm and sought medical treatment. Even though this occurred last week, he only revealed the news this morning.

Last Friday (Feb. 10), Cannon fell ill, likely due to his insane bi-coastal work schedule, which finds him crisscrossing the country between New York City and Los Angeles. Cannon, who holds multiple jobs, was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, which is often a result of lots of long-distance flying. He also had an enlarged ventricle in his heart. Poor Nick!

WENN reports that on his morning radio show today (Feb.16), Cannon opened up about his further medical maladies, saying, "I was trying to downplay it a lot, even in my own mind. I travel a lot. Anyone who flies a lot can be a victim to getting blood clots because it can start in your legs or your lower back. That, on top of my previous condition, made me more prone. I couldn’t sleep because I was in so much pain. I was having a lot of pain in my back."

Cannon is finally taking heed of his doctor's advice to trim his work schedule. This is, after all, a man with twin babies at home. He continued, "My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me – and he’s not joking. I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn’t resting a lot and I was doing too much. I was overworking myself, working out too much."

Cannon also said, "I always took a lot of pride in working so hard and never taking a day off. But I’m learning that it isn’t the wisest thing all the time, especially being a new father. Not only wanting to spend more time with my children, but wanting to be there for my children."

PopCrush agrees with Cannon's doctors. Stop and smell the roses. Take a breather. Do it for Roc and Roe, and Mariah.
